The Reason I’m Running for Mayor

ree

My name is Adam Eggleston, and I’m running to be the next Mayor of Fort Collins.

Right now, our city is at a defining crossroads. While national politics grow louder and more divisive, Fort Collins doesn’t need another partisan voice, we need steady, independent leadership that puts our community first. This is our chance to double down on what we can shape right here at home: a vibrant, inclusive, and future-ready Fort Collins rooted in connection, innovation, and shared values.

As a lifelong resident, I know Fort Collins thrives when we lead with openness and collaboration. Ours has always been a city where big ideas take root, where neighbors come together to solve challenges, and where we build something more substantial than the sum of its parts. But lately, outside forces and distractions have pulled us away from our priorities. It’s time to refocus and chart a path forward that reflects who we are.

As mayor, I will bring a grounded, experienced, and optimistic voice to City Hall, championing thoughtful progress, responsible leadership, and real results for our community. I’ll support policies that deliver tangible benefits without raising taxes, ensuring every dollar we invest strengthens the well-being and resilience of our city.

This means expanding housing options through gentler density, improving mobility with better-connected transit, and working toward a true 15-minute city, where opportunities, services, and community are always close to home. Fort Collins can and should be a model for forward-thinking businesses, environmental leadership, and inclusive growth.

As a small business owner, I understand the grit it takes to succeed here. I’ll fight to restore Fort Collins as a small business powerhouse by cutting red tape, stabilizing commercial spaces, and creating an environment that fosters local entrepreneurs' success. Small businesses are the heartbeat of our city: they create jobs, fuel innovation, and shape the character of our neighborhoods.

With more than 15 years of civic service on boards, task forces, and working groups, I bring both deep knowledge of how our city works, and a clear vision for where we can go. Together, we can make Fort Collins a more affordable, connected, and inclusive community, while preserving the spirit that makes this city home.

This election is about focus. It’s about whether we allow national politics to divide us, or whether we come together to build the Fort Collins we want for the next generation. I believe the choice is clear. Let’s move forward, proud of where we’ve been and bold about where we’re going.
